On 20 June 2017, following the terrible fire at Grenfell Tower, the NWH RA felt it necessary to write to the Manager asking if basic fire safety precautions were in place at Northwood Hall (the Committee received no response):
Mr Maunder Taylor,
Following recent events the Northwood Hall Residents’ Association is obviously concerned about the issue of fire safety arrangements affecting Northwood Hall.
Please would you confirm the identity of the ‘Responsible person’ appointed in accordance with Article 3 of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. Please also provide a copy of the Fire Risk Assessment for Northwood Hall that the ‘responsible person’ would have commissioned immediately following the date of your appointment on 26 June 2016. And would you please publish the Risk Assessment on the Dwellant website without delay so that it is available to all leaseholders and occupiers.
As an experienced FTT Manager, operating under the terms of the FTT Order and in compliance with statutory obligation, you will have commissioned a formal Risk Assessment but we have not seen this and are not aware of any steps taken as a result of that Assessment.
Please advise the programme of works to implement the fire precautions specified in the risk assessment.
We look forward to hearing from you urgently.
Kate Calvert
Chair/Secretary, Northwood Hall Residents’ Association
